[ Read More → ]Its not often a bit of Microsoft software impresses me, but Hyper-V Server 2012 has done – especially for the cost which is free. Hyper-V Server is basically Windows 2012 Server stripped right down to provide just the Hyper-V element with no GUI although occasionally when configuring something a familiar Windows dialogue will pop up.
[ Read More → ]By default an installation of Windows 2012 Server comes setup to use DHCP for its network setup and some random computer name. If you want to use the sever for anything useful, the first thing you really need to do is change the IP address and server name to something a bit more sensible.
